Interests

HDR, Panoramas, Animals, Flowers and Travel

Those are the areas of interest that I enjoy. I think I enjoy working on images on the computer as much as I enjoy creating them with the camera.

HDR Photography

I love HDR photography when it enhances the image to make it real. It should be just enough to create a image that matches reality. I use Photomatix, Aurora HDR and Nik Collection’s HDR Efex Pro along with multiple shots to make HDR shots. But I also use the in camera  HDR mode of the Panasonic cameras to create an image in camera when I don’t have the time to setup the tripod and take multiple shots.

Panorama Photography

Panoramas can create a unique visual image of a location in a way that other forms of photography can’t match. It can give you a view of another place so real that it is as if you have entered the image. I  have been doing old school panoramas for about 20 years. The software I use has gotten better in that time and now I am using Kolor’s Autopano Giga. I have a Manfrotto 303SPH Spherical Panoramic Pro Head which I mount on my Manfrotto tripod legs. This gives a sturdy platform to take multi-row  or 360 panoramas. I can also combine HDR to do multi-row shots like the church above.

Animals, Flowers and Travel

I enjoy photographing animals in a way that resembles a portrait. The same is true for flowers. I try to catch them in the best light and show them in a way that most people won’t see unless they stop and look closely.
